WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?
Personal information you disclose to us
In Short: We collect personal information that you provide to us, such as account information,
contact information, authentication information, billing information, support communications, and content or
settings you choose to store in the Services.
We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when registering for the Services,
expressing an interest in obtaining information about us or our products and services, when participating in
activities through the Services or our community forums, or otherwise contacting us.
The personal information that we collect depends on the context of your interactions with us and the Services,
the choices you make and the products and features you use. The personal information we collect can include

Name and Contact Data. We collect your first and last name, email address, postal
address, phone number, and other similar contact data when you provide it to us or when it is
associated with your account.

and account access, such as account identifiers, linked sign-in providers, password credentials,
phone verification information, and security tokens.

Payment and Subscription Data. If you make purchases, we collect information needed
to manage your subscription, invoices, tax calculations, and transaction status. Payment card
numbers and security codes are processed by our payment processor, and we receive limited payment
details such as billing contact information, payment status, subscription identifiers, card brand,
and the last four digits of a card when applicable.

requests, email, community posts, feedback, testimonials, surveys, or similar communications.

User Content and Configuration Data. We collect dashboards, rules, tiles,
variables, preferences, invitations, sharing settings, and other content or settings that you create

of any changes to such personal information.
WHAT SMART HOME AND INTEGRATION DATA DO WE PROCESS?
In Short: When you connect third-party smart home platforms or related services, we process the
information needed to provide dashboards, automation, notifications, and account features.
At your direction, the Services may connect with supported platforms and services such as smart home hubs,
cloud platforms, local bridge software, notification providers, calendar or media services, and similar
integrations. Depending on the integration and the permissions you grant, we may process account identifiers,
access tokens or refresh tokens, location or home names, room names, device names, device identifiers,
capabilities, attributes, current and historical states, events, commands, automation actions, rule logs,
media or feed metadata, and other data needed to operate the features you enable.
We use this data to provide the Services you request. For example, we may use device state data to display a
dashboard tile, evaluate an automation rule, send a notification, synchronize authorized devices, or help
troubleshoot a support request. We do not sell your smart home device data or use it for targeted
advertising.
Information automatically collected
In Short: Some information – such as IP address and/or browser and device characteristics – is
collected automatically when you use our Services.
We automatically collect certain information when you visit, use or navigate the Services. This information
does not reveal your specific identity (like your name or contact information) but may include device and
usage information, such as your IP address, browser and device characteristics, operating system, language
preferences, referring URLs, device name, country, location, information about how and when you use our
Services and other technical information. This information is primarily needed to maintain the security and
operation of our Services, and for our internal analytics, diagnostics, and reporting purposes.
Like many businesses, we also collect information through cookies and similar technologies.
Information collected through our mobile applications
In Short: We may collect information regarding your mobile device, app usage, optional device
permissions, and push notifications when you use our apps.
If you use our mobile applications (“Apps”), we may also collect the following information:

Mobile Device Data. We may automatically collect device information such as device identifiers,
device name, model, manufacturer, operating system, app version, IP address, crash logs, diagnostics,
and other technical information needed to operate and improve the Apps.

Optional Device Permissions. We may request access or permission to device features only when needed
for features you choose to use, such as notifications, local files, location, or similar device
capabilities. If you wish to change our access or permissions, you may do so in your device’s
settings.

Push Notifications. We may request to send you push notifications regarding your account, connected
devices, automations, invitations, or the mobile application. If you wish to opt out from receiving
these types of communications, you may
turn them off in your device’s settings.
Information collected from other Sources
In Short: We may collect limited data from connected services, authentication providers, payment
processors, marketing or support providers, and other outside sources.
We may obtain information about you from other sources, such as platforms or services you connect to
SharpTools, authentication providers, payment processors, customer support tools, email delivery providers,
analytics providers, public databases, marketing partners, and other third parties. Examples include account
identifiers, email address, display name, profile photo, billing or subscription status, integration
permissions, device or location metadata, and information you choose to make available through those services.
HOW DO WE USE YOUR INFORMATION?
In Short: We process your information for purposes based on legitimate business interests, the
fulfillment of our contract with you, compliance with our legal obligations, and/or your consent.
We use personal information collected via our Services for a variety of business purposes described below. We
process your personal information for these purposes in reliance on our legitimate business interests
(“Business Purposes”), in order to enter into or perform a contract with you (“Contractual”), with your
consent (“Consent”), and/or for compliance with our legal obligations (“Legal Reasons”). We indicate the
specific processing grounds we rely on next to each purpose listed below.
We use the information we collect or receive:

your account, authenticate your access, synchronize connected services, display dashboards, run
automations, send notifications, maintain subscriptions, and provide other features you request.

with a supported third-party account, such as Google or another authentication provider, we use the
information you allow us to receive to facilitate account creation and logon. See the section below
headed “Third-Party Login Providers” for further information.

send product, service, security, billing, support, and new feature information and/or information
about changes to our terms, conditions, and policies.

to posting a testimonial, we will obtain your consent to use your name and testimonial. If you wish
to update, or delete your testimonial, please contact us at support@sharptools.io and be sure to

shared features.
We do not sell your personal information, sensitive personal data, or biometric data. We do not sell your
smart home device data or use it for targeted advertising.
DO WE USE COOKIES AND OTHER TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES?
In Short: We may use cookies and other tracking technologies to collect and store your information.
We may use cookies and similar tracking technologies (like web beacons, pixels, local storage, and similar
technologies) to access or store information. These technologies help us keep you signed in, remember
settings, secure the Services, understand usage, diagnose issues, and measure the effectiveness of our
communications or marketing pages. You can usually adjust cookie settings through your browser or device,
though disabling some cookies may affect certain features of the Services.
DO WE USE GOOGLE MAPS?
In Short: Yes, we may use Google Maps and related location services for location-based features.
The Services may use Google Maps APIs or related Google location services. You may find the Google

By using features that rely on our Maps API implementation, you agree to be bound by Google’s Terms of
Service. We may use Maps APIs to help you set or confirm location, geolocation, timezone, address, or similar
information for supported features. We may collect or process the following information when you use these
features:
- Geolocation coordinates, address, place, timezone, and related map interaction data.

“Use of Your Information” and “Disclosure of Your Information.” You may revoke or change device-level
location permissions through your browser or device settings, and you may update saved location information
through the Services where supported. The Maps APIs that we use may store and access cookies and other
information on your devices.
HOW DO WE HANDLE THIRD-PARTY LOGIN PROVIDERS?
In Short: If you choose to register or log in using a supported third-party account, we may have
access to certain information about you from that provider.
The Services may offer the ability to register, log in, or link your account using supported third-party
providers, such as Google or other authentication providers. Where you choose to do this, we will receive
certain profile information from the provider. The profile information we receive may vary depending on the
provider and your settings, but may include your name, email address, profile picture, provider account
identifier, and other information you authorize the provider to share.
We will use the information we receive only for the purposes that are described in this privacy policy or
that are otherwise made clear to you in the Services. Please note that we do not control, and are not
responsible for, other uses of your personal information by your third-party authentication provider. We

WHAT IS OUR STANCE ON THIRD-PARTY WEBSITES?
In Short: We are not responsible for the safety of any information that you share with third-party
websites, services, or integrations that we do not operate.
The Services may contain links to third-party websites, online services, mobile applications, integrations,
or content that are not operated by us. We cannot guarantee the safety and privacy of data you provide to
any third parties. Any data collected by third parties is not covered by this privacy policy. We are not
responsible for the content or privacy and security practices and policies of any third parties, including
other websites, services or applications that may be linked to or from the Services. You
should review the policies of such third parties and contact them directly to respond to your questions.
HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION?
In Short: We keep your information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in
this privacy policy unless otherwise required by law.
We will only keep your personal information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this
privacy policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (such as tax, accounting or
other legal requirements). Retention periods vary depending on the type of information and the reason it is
processed. For example, we may retain billing and transaction records as needed for accounting and tax
purposes, security and fraud-prevention records as needed to protect the Services, and backup copies for a
limited period before deletion from backup systems.

delete or anonymize it, or, if this is not possible (for example, because your personal information has
been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal information and isolate it from

our files to prevent fraud, troubleshoot problems, assist with investigations, enforce our Terms of Use,
maintain security, complete transactions, preserve legal rights, and/or comply with legal requirements.
